Episode 3- COVID 19 + The beauty of connection (in a time of quarantine)

Happy first day of Spring!!

My computer came back from a quarantine I wasn’t aware it needed just in time to help me create during my time of isolation. Aren’t devices grand?! A lot has happened since the last podcast like the entire world is dealing with a virus (COVID-19 or Coronavirus or The Rona) and so far there isn’t a vaccine for it. Because of that and how rapidly it’s spreading the entire globe is under a mandatory quarantine. [Life comes at you fast.] People are being asked to practice social distancing, schools are closed, toilet paper is gone (because duh what else will keep people warm at night) and we’ve all gotten MULTIPLE lessons on how to wash our hands. [Not sure what we were doing before this moment in time but alas here we are and what a lesson we have learned.]

In the midst of all of this I felt it was only right that I talk about the thing we all are experiencing together and that’s the reality that we can’t (shouldn’t) go anywhere. This has made me think about how we connected before the virus rushed ashore and how much we (probably) took for granted physical interactions, seeing each others faces and the slump of text and tweet we fall into when our lives aren’t on pause. Now that we are all at home doing the same thing (nothing sis, not a thang) I’ve noticed that we are FaceTiming more, utilizing zoom not just for work and using social media as the thing that it was created for and that’s socializing.

We aren’t as concerned about makeup and clothes and trying to be seen because we are facing a real life moment of madness together and the one thing we need more than bread is each other.

In this episode of A Woman With a Story I talk about the power of this part of our story, the chapter we now share, the beauty in how we are seeking out ways to connect and how this moment of stillness is a part of God’s plan to remind us what’s important.

A Woman With a Story is a podcast for women who want to feel less alone as women, mothers and wives. Women who want to feel seen and connected. It’s for women learning to embrace and believe in the beauty of the journey. Women who need to know that they aren’t alone on the curve balls of life. As a mother, wife and woman after God’s own heart I have my share of interesting and hilarious moments as well as profound revelations that have encouraged me and continue to strengthen me on my journey. These are my lessons and the beautiful stories of my life.
